Marble Backsplashes

A marble backsplash is a subtle yet powerful way to add luxury and luminescence to your kitchen or bathroom.

PROS:

  • Marble absorbs heat and is naturally cool to the touch
  • Marble will last a lifetime when properly maintained
  • Marble reflects light beautifully and can brighten up small spaces or dark corners

CONS:

  • Marble will etch if it comes into contact with acid (such as citrus juice, vinegar and certain cleaning products)
  • Marble is porous and can be stained by common liquids such as coffee or red wine
  • Marble panel backsplashes are eye-catching and come in a range of colors and patterns to complement a classic or modern décor.

If adding a full marble countertop is out of your price range, a 6-inch backsplash made from marble remnants is an affordable way to upgrade your kitchen or bath.

Stone Backsplash Size

Because we custom design and fabricate each natural stone backsplash for your home, you can get a full or partial backsplash or sidesplash in any size you need.

What is the standard height of a kitchen backsplash?

Most kitchen backsplashes are installed on the wall below the cabinets and above the countertop. On average the height of a standard backsplash is between 15” and 18”.

The best way to create a stone backsplash you’ll love for years to come is to consult with our experienced stone fabricators. Factors such as your height, the depth of your cabinets and counters and the size of your kitchen should all be considered.

What is the standard height of a bathroom backsplash?

How thick is a granite or stone backsplash? A stone backsplash installed behind a bathroom countertop, vanity or sink is usually 4” or 6”. A backsplash behind a bathtub can range from 2” to the entire wall depending on the distance between the wall and tub, and whether you have a waterproof tub surround.

In most cases, a natural stone backsplash is cut from the same slab as a countertop, typically about 1 ¼”. Our stone fabricators can create a stone slab or panel backsplash in the exact thickness your remodeling project calls for.
